Max: Upgrades and Other Tedium
I finally got around to finishing up the upgrades on my desktop. Of course lack of planning and intelligence made the whole experience more entertaining than necesary. It had occured to me to make an inventory of the hardware on the system, download the latest Win2k drivers, and burn them to disk. Of course I didn't. Everything managed to get installed. Everything except my ethernet card. Oops. Here I was with no ethernet card, no floppy disk drive (so I couldn't download the driver to floppy on my laptop), and unable to find any disk that identified itself as a D-Link driver disk. Eventually I remembered that the ethernet card came with my DSL install kit and threw my DSL installer disk in and found the driver.
My reward - I have burned The Deep End, Vol I to disk and am just about to head out on errands and listen to the glory on my car's cd player. Groove on.
