Max: Homeland Security Sez, "Stay in Debt."

Scripps Howard News Service

"They were told, as they moved up the managerial ladder at the call center, that the amount they had sent in was much larger than their normal monthly payment. And if the increase hits a certain percentage higher than that normal payment, Homeland Security has to be notified. And the money doesn't move until the threat alert is lifted."

There's an excuse to pay none of my credit cards.

I have always had a suspicion that Chase Manhattan was a terrorist organisation ...

The best policy is to do nothing ever. Just lay there and stay out of trouble.

This is seriously fucked up. So... the fact that we just paid off one of our credit cards means that we are now on the "alert" list???

Anyone ever watch that show 'Sliders'? They slid to a world where you were considered a rebel and harrased by the government if you had the audacity to pay off your debts and refused to go back in to debt. I think you even had to go to some sort of consumerism training to re-orient you to the mass consumer lifestyle.

Remember, true Sci-Fi is just a logical extapolation to see what the future very well could bring.
