"Missouri legislators in Jefferson City considered a bill that would name Christianity the state's official 'majority' religion."

Well... technically Christianity proably IS the majority religion in Missouri. It's probably different in just St. Louis, though. Anyway, there's no need to make it "official". I mean, what good would that do? All it'd do is say "most of this state is Christian". It's how MO votes that counts.

I think it's hilarious that a state that is so 'Christian' has MO for it's 2 letter abbreviation.

And what should those of us who are not Christian think of what these MO's are trying to say with this bill?

The state motto, "The Show Me State", was shortened from "The Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine State" when women first arrived.

So, I read up on this stupid thing. It isn't a law, per se. It's more like congress passing a resolution that motherhood is a good thing. There are those that fear that it could be a prelude to trying to get a law passed. There are those that fear voting against it, that they might be painted as "anti-christian".

Frankly, if you are aware of an elected officail who votes for this waste of time, find someone else to vote for next time around. Why would you want someone in office who is wasting your money passing such malarky? Wouldn't it be better if they were busy making laws or something? An actual law making Christianity the offical state religion would be better than this! At least it would show some balls!

Although it does not bear the weight of law, theres is no difference between passing a resolution that MO is a Christian state and passing a resolution stating that MO is a white state.

Quite frankly, I am about as interested in hearing Christians complain about being oppressed in the US as I am in hearing a lottery winner go on about their money problems.
