Max: Sarah Palin != Middle Class
Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin released tax records today that showed she and her husband earned $166,080 in 2007 and, in line with the national average, paid income taxes of $24,738.
If that's middle class, what am I? A fucking untouchable?

Under Obama's tax plan, the Palins would see a tax break. But, as per usual, the right wing goes out of it's way to do things not in their own best interest.
Max, just because I'm Mr. Helpful, I thought you should know that you define the trailing edge of the middle class. Or, you could think of yourself as Upper Low Class.
On United Airlines, the higher priced Coach seats are called Economy Plus - feel free to use that rather than "Untouchable".
I think your view of "middle class" has been skewed from living on the West Coast, Jer. Middle class there is upper class here... but there's more people living outside of the coasts, so our middle class is more accurate than yours. Not saying we're upper middle class, but we're not upper lower class... they live in Lemay and some areas of South City. :P
So, Laura, you are using your measuring stick, the ever depressed economy in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, to define what is median?
Let's try this, in 2007, the median household income in the US, which would define the absolute middle of the middle class, was 50,233.00.

By this article, my household falls into the upper 20 - 25% of households in the US.
However, if I am going to go by Laura's way of thinking, considering the richest man in the world lives just a few miles from my house, I should be getting welfare!
Yes. Forget that we're all being screwed. That is nowhere as important as arguing non-existent differences between the coasts and the flyover.
Dance, moneys! Dance!
