Max: Donations Go To Pot

CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time - Blogs from CNN.com

Marijuana backers aren't laughing about President Obama's flippant dismissal of a pot-related question during Thursday's online town hall meeting — and the country's leading marijuana advocacy group, The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, has seen its donations quadruple over the last 24 hours.

He is pandering to the roughly 60% of the population who still oppose legalization.

Well, I wish he wouldn't pander to anyone. What does HE really think? Can he REALLY think legalizing weed wouldn't help the economy? It's been proven!

I think legalizing pot will help the economy. I think there are some good ideas when it comes to taxing the drug, some good theories. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's been "proven". If you have seen "proof" - I'd love to see it.

If people supported Obama thinking he would help them legalize pot - they were not paying attention. Obama has been anti-pot all along.

People have to remember, this man is a centrist. He's not some pie in the sky liberal - no matter how many coats of commie pink the Right try to paint him with. He is a working father of two girls and like most parents, I'm sure he fears a world where his kids have easy access to drugs.

Is it logical? No. Nothing in politics is logical. If the Bush girls are any example - his girls now bathe in a world of easy drugs. Hopefully they will be smarter than Dubya's Kids.

Until we elect Tommy Chong to the White House - Pot will remain illegal on a federal level.

There are some smaller economies in your very state that would be bankrupt if it weren't for legalized medical marijuana growers. Same thing in parts of California. It was on that documentary on MSNBC. Can't think of the title- Max?

I remember being pissed that the governors of those areas were "embarrassed and appalled" that their economies depended on weed. Would they rather be completely bankrupt?! Jeez.
