Jericho: United Breaks Guitars
And the airline industry wonders why they have falling revenue? I have to pay an outrageous amount for a cramped seat next to a screaming baby. (If anyone notices I'm over-weight, they'll charge me double!) I have to wait three hours to check in my bag and three hours to get them, if they showed up at all. I have to get naked and unpack my bags and answer stupid questions just to get on the fucking plane. And, oh, yes! Let us not forget the baggage handlers. I have to pay extra to bring a bag these days but do they take extra care of it? Nope! The last time I flew, one of my bags looked as if it had been drug across the tarmac.
Please! Somebody! Build me some bullet trains, that way the airline industry will have some completion and maybe they will straighten up and fly right!
Here's someone with even bigger issues than I. This is pure incompetence - on the part of United. The song is actually really good. Find the whole story here.

Yeah, I stopped flying a couple of years ago. All the new restriction and searches make it so frustrating it is worth it to just drive. Then the courts declared that airlines can keep you captive on a plane indefinitely without food, water or sanitation. Last flight I took, I had to be escorted through the airport and all my stuff searched because supposedly part of me name was "similar" to someone on the terrorist watch list. I wonder if the James part was what was similar? I refuse to give airlines any money.
The last flight I took, I was with Steph. We were flying home from Maine after spending Xmas with her folks.
As you might imagine, the weather was bad all along the East Coast. So, our flight was canceled. Steph spent the better part of the day trying to get our flight moved to another time or carrier or something. She finally succeeded.
On our way through security (ha!) we were detained and given an additional screening. Both of us. (Didn't exactly feel "random" at this point.) The TSA guy who screened me was nice enough and a hell of a lot faster than the one that screened Steph. He took ten minutes to unpack all of my stuff and look it over, unlike the lady that worked on Steph who took 20 minutes.
He also told me something very interesting. We "qualified" for this additional screening because ... wait for it ... we changed our flight. The flight was canceled. We "changed" our flight because we didn't have any choice unless we wanted to stay in Maine permanently. This flagged us as terrorists!
Between the airlines and the TSA - I'd rather walk.
